Announcement:
Norman Jennings . . . . Ajon Moriyama . . . . Jason Moriyama All three have injected the firm with a healthy dose of new ideas, influencing the way we think and the way we work. Norman, who has a Bachelor of Technology (Architectural Science) from Ryerson Polytechnic University, has been with Moriyama & Teshima since 1984. In addition to working on architectural projects such as the Canadian Embassy in Tokyo and the Bata Shoe Museum, Norman explored the world of computer technology and brought it into our office, fundamentally changing the way we do our work. He created a system for executing projects using the computer, set up new standards and trained our staff. Norman started M&T Online, our own bulletin board system and built our popular Internet site. Ajon joined Moriyama & Teshima Architects in 1989 after receiving a Bachelor of Architecture degree from Carleton University in Ottawa. Since then he has been the project designer for the residential and fitness facilities for the Canadian Embassy in Tokyo and the expansion to the Japanese Canadian Cultural Centre in Toronto, originally designed by the firm in the early 60s. An exhibition on Moriyama & Teshima's work, conceived and designed by Ajon, is currently touring several European cities. Jason first joined the firm in 1986, left to receive a Master of Architecture from the Southern California Institute of Architecture, and rejoined in 1992. Jason was the project designer for Moriyama & Teshima's winning entries to the design competitions for the Agnes Etherington Art Centre at Queen's University and Seneca College on the York University Campus. He has also been the project designer for the Nikkei Heritage Centre in Vancouver and the award-winning Bay Bloor Radio in Toronto. As well, Jason has a Bachelor of Industrial Design from Carleton University. |
